What is the difference between C and SC size NiMH batteries?

C size batteries (D25.5mm x H50mm) are wider and taller than SC (Sub-C) size (D22.5mm x H43mm). This larger volume allows C cells to offer significantly higher capacities (up to 5000mAh) compared to the max 3600mAh usually found in SC cells.

Can these 1.2V NiMH C cells replace standard 1.5V Alkaline C batteries?

Yes. Although the nominal voltage is 1.2V, NiMH C cells maintain a much flatter discharge curve than Alkaline batteries. In the majority of high-drain devices like flashlights and radios, they will perform better and last longer per charge.
